Meet Pastor Forbis
Dr. Forbis Kivett joined our staff as Administrative Pastor in July 2009. Early in life he trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior, was
nurtured by Christian parents and people of his home church, Ramseur Wesleyan Church in Randolph County.
Answering God's call
into Christian ministry at the age of 16, Forbis knew this was a call also to prepare. So he followed an academic path which included
degrees from Southern Pilgrim College, Guilford College, and concluding with a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Asbury
Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1962 and has served as pastor of seven churches, including Unity Wesleyan.
Forbis married Raynita Conklin in 1959 who became an integral part of his ministry right from the start. They have three adult sons and two grandsons. Reflecting on his life and almost 50 years in Christian ministry, Pastor Forbis is enthusiastic about God's faithfulness and blessing. As one of his favorite songs proclaims, "Great is thy Faithfullness, Lord unto me!"
